Market Street

You’re 15 with $1,000 and a job at Burger Barn. Pick a dream, walk around town, and decide where each paycheck goes as new places open up. Along the way you’ll face a crash, a hype coin, hot tips, and surprise bills.

Market Street

You’re 15 with $1,000 and a new job. Can you grow it into your dream?

Every year Burger Barn pays you, and you decide what to do with the money. New places open in town as you get older, and the market won’t always be kind.

Pick your dream
  • Walk around town Use WASD or the arrow keys, or click where you want to go. On a tablet, hold your finger down to steer.
  • Step into a glowing circle Each building has one. Stand in it to put money in or take it out, and watch your pile of coins grow.
  • Skip ahead at the Clock Tower A year flies by, your money goes up or down, and the newspaper explains what happened.

Using Market Street in a classroom

  • Put it on the big screen

Press the full-screen button and pick the quick 5-year game, which fits into about ten minutes of a workshop.

  • Let the class vote

Every decision card has lettered answers. Have students vote A, B, or C, then press 1, 2, or 3 to lock in the class’s choice.

  • Replay the same years

At the end, replay the exact same market with a different plan so students can see that the choices changed the result, not luck.

  • Talk it through

The final screen ends with three discussion questions about the crash, hype, and what students would change. They work well in pairs before sharing.

Every company, coin, and headline is made up, and the yearly returns are simplified versions of how real investments tend to behave. This is a learning game with no real money and no investment advice.
